Bigger, Louder, Longer. Better? No! A bigger budgeted rehash, lacking in comparison to its EPIC original. I can only assume this will take the turn of all other predecessor franchises, ending with some 3D poop spatter, needing more paint.<br/><br/>I hated the plot here it was awfully nonexistent. The gangster hierarchy shown were pathetic cardboard cutouts, painful to watch. Aside I didn&#39;t like the hammer scenes in this martial arts film they lacked balance and function, alongside the baseball bat sequence. Tediously. A few other scenes were also quite drawn out. Although overall it will keep the fanboy&#39;s re-watching for this entertaining ride that was a roller coaster of paced action, in between some of the above duration. Yes! An enjoyable film for the style of martial arts seen and action.<br/><br/>Brutal martial arts action film, but really wasn&#39;t as good as the first at all, therefore cannot be rated higher.
The Raid 2 is an action-movie as action-movies should be. The film surpasses the first one across-the-boards. <br/><br/>The story is not brilliant but always exciting and keeps the viewer in line all the time. The Story reminds to the Hong-Kong-Cinema for example movies from Johnnie To or John Woo. The plot even makes, the not really relevant plot of the first Raid, better. More interesting and better designed characters. The &quot;Hammer Girl&quot; reminds to an oversubscribed female version of Oh Dae-su from Oldboy that suit perfectly in the movie.<br/><br/>The fighting scenes are just brilliant. There so much creative and innovative scenes you will not found in any other movie currently.<br/><br/>Evans include the setting in almost every fighting scene that makes the movie more diversified. Less gun fights and more Martial Arts. The choreography is perfect like in the first Raid. The most impressing thing for me is the camera work of the movie for example that unbelievable tracking shot in the car scene.<br/><br/>So summarized the Raid 2 is a movie every Action Fan has to watch and the movie will hopefully be inspire other directors to create a new era of good action movies. <br/><br/>A must seen.
